A pet dog in Gurgaon, India (6 yo German Shepherd) has died of heat stroke. He was playing in the park around 10am and just collapsed of cardiac arrest
In hot climates like India, people should absolutely not let their dogs out after 9am or before 7pm and play or running around should be avoided at all costs. Only normal walk should be done at an appropriate time.
Signs of heat stroke are erratic barking, wretching, excessive panting.
Temperature can go up to 105F. 107F-108F can be highly fatal
Rush to the Vet ASAP if the dog is erratically barking or panting. A sure sign of heat stroke is bluish discoloration of the pet’s tongue due to extremely low body oxygen
Please be extremely watchful of your dog’s behavior throughout the hot summer and do not let them out to play or run around even on your terrace or in your yard
