So, a creator on Twitter wrote that she wished there was an easier way for creators to get paid or tipped on Twitter. I told her about Nostr and the Lightning Network / Satoshi, where tipping is as easy as zapping sats. Another user, a self-confessed technologist, jumped in on the thread and remarked, "but crypto fees are so high".

This is a completely wrong notion and a lot of people have it when it comes to Bitcoin and Nostr apps. There are no "crypto fees" involved in Bitcoin and Nostr apps. Transactions - where you pay or get paid - in Bitcoin and Nostr apps are processed off-chain on the Lightning Network - a separate payment layer built atop the Bitcoin blockchain.

I was surprised by this complete lack of awareness or knowledge of the Lightning Network and the Satoshi (one hundred millionth of a Bitcoin). This is both a huge challenge and a huge opportunity to scale Bitcoin apps like Stacker, Wavlake, Pinstr, and Habla. People continue to think that Bitcoin is something "those people do there". They still confuse Bitcoin apps with Blockchain and Web3 apps. They don't realize or know that Bitcoin apps and the Lightning Network have been created to solve precisely those set of problems around scaling Bitcoin. This lack of general awareness around the Lightning Network is a huge challenge.

So, I think there has to be a lot of outreach to convince people that Bitcoin and Nostr apps are really simple and straightforward to use for creators and involve an element of simple payments, where no third-party apps or gateways except lightning wallets are needed. This thing needs great packaging and marketing of the phenomenal value proposition of Bitcoin and Nostr apps.

I am just wondering why vanity URLs are not standard on all Nostr apps, when my metadata linking my public key to a username is published to all relays and therefore available to all apps (or is it?)?

Why isn't appname.com/username the de-facto standard?

For example, I am <np-embed url="https://primal.net/avichand">https://primal.net/avichand</np-embed> on the Primal app, but not so on the Nostr.band app or the Coracle app.

A dear friend, a very smart cookie, has started a new venture in Digital Asset Risk Management for institutional clients. He is just starting out and asked me for the "best approach" to digital marketing. I told him that given that it is an information-intensive industry, he needs to publish content to engage his potential customers. That's it ... that's content marketing ... when you publish great-quality content that your prospects benefit from, engage with, and improve their relationship with you. Then he asked me how and what content should he be posting. That's the subject matter of content strategy.

What is content strategy? Your content strategy answers three questions in the context of the content you are putting out and what goals and objectives you have. First question is "why". Why do you want to put out content? Do you want to increase brand awareness, engagement etc. Basically, how do you want to nudge customers along the customer journey from awareness to consideration to decision. What exactly is your purpose for putting out content. Second key question is "where". Where do you want to put out content? Do you want to write articles, a blog, or produce a podcast, or a YouTube video series. This depends on how you want to meet your audience. Final question is "what". Exactly what sort of content do you want to put out.

If you answer these three questions, you will have a scheme of integrated and coordinated decisions, or basically your content strategy.

That's it.

Good Luck!!
